What Causes Blister Like Bump On The Upper Left Side Of Labia Minora?

I have an almost blister like bump on the upper left side of my labia minora. It is not painful for the most part unless I try to squeeze it. There is no head to it and its like a gel bubble to the touch. Ive noticed it gets slightly larger during/after intercourse but then subsides. What could it be?

Hello,

Vaginal bump is may be due to:

1. Vulvar cysts: Your vulva has a number of glands, including oil glands, Bartholin’s glands, and Skene’s glands. A cyst can form if these glands become clogged. The size of cysts varies, but most feel like small, hard lumps. Cysts aren’t usually painful unless they become infected. These will subside itself.

2. Vaginal cysts: Origin from wall of vagina. They are normally about the size of a pea or smaller. Vaginal inclusion cysts are the most common type of vaginal cyst. They sometimes form after childbirth or injury to the vagina.

3. Other possibilities are Fordyce spots, varicosities or ingrown hair et cetera.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your gynecologist, she/he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
