What Causes Bleeding While Attempting Sex?
Hello. My boyfriend and I attempted to have sex today. It was my first time and I was expecting some pain and bleeding. I did not go in all the way. However, there was a lot of blood. We stopped and tried again but there was still a lot of blood. He did use a condom. When I got home I used the bathroom and there was a clot. Should I be concerned? I m nervous at the moment, I can t be pregnant can I? Please answer back soon thank you!

To get pregnant, the sexual intercourse has to occur during the fertile period of the cycle which occurs two weeks prior to the onset of the next period. The most likely cause of the bleeding is the trauma to the hymen. I would suggest a proper clinical evaluation to plan further management. Avoid further intercourse until you are healed well.
