What Causes Bleeding After Intercourse?
I recently started having sex after a break of 8-9 months. The first 4 times I had sex with my partner it was fine. The last time I started to bleed. My most recent PAP was in January 2011 and it was normal. I do not believe I have any STDs either. There was no pain at all during or after any of the times I had sex.

Several causes can be related to this post-coital spotting namely, erosion of the cervix, infections of the vagina and cervix, dryness of the vagina during act leading to rough intercourse, polyps of the endometrium and cervix and so on. A proper clinical evaluation, a repeat pap smear, swabs from the vagina and cervix to test infection and a sonogram of the pelvis are needed to detect the cause and plan further management. If nothing abnormal is found and dryness is the cause, you can use K-Y jelly for lubrication. Hope this helps.
