What Causes Bleeding After Intercourse?

Hi, im 28 yrs old. I started my period on the 2nd of October and ended on friday 10th. Im not on birth control pills, however, Sunday and Monday my boyfriend and I had both protected and unprotected sex. Few days later, I was spotting, today the bleeding increased more and I had to put a tampon. I feel like this is not normal to me and its never helped to me before. Im worried because I have abdominal pain and keep thinking after my period I was spotting until today it increased the bleeding. Scared! Please help me figure out whats happening ??

Hi,

First of all, do not panic.

Post-intercourse bleeding needs to be investigated properly.

Please get per vaginal and per speculum examination is done from your treating gynecologist.

This will help to know about the cause of your bleeding.

Many a time, cervical polyp and or erosion is the cause, this can be diagnosed and treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar,
