What Causes Bleeding After An Intercourse?

Me and my boyfriend just had sex for the first time, we used protection and took all precautions very seriously. We were both eachothers first so it was a little bit of a guessing game on how to do some things. When he first went in I felt slight pressure, I thought My cherry popped but there was no blood. Later on the deeper he went the more pain I felt! The longer we went the tighter I got, I do not believe that I popped my hymen. When we were finished there was no blood on the condom is it possible that I did pop my cherry without blood or that I didn t go deep enough, I play competitive soccer and like to think of myself as a very active person, I don t think my cherry was already popped though due to the pain I felt.

Hi,

There are many reasons why a woman may bleed after sex. The medical name for this is "postcoital bleeding".

Most common are an infection, such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or a sexually transmitted infection (STI), such as chlamydia then vaginal dryness (atrophic vaginitis) caused by reduced vaginal secretions after the menopause, damage to the vagina, such as tears caused by childbirth, or by dryness or friction during sex or cervical or endometrial polyps (benign or non-cancerous growths in the womb or the lining of the cervix).

If the problem is caused by vaginal dryness, they may recommend that you try using lubricating gels. For other treatments it would be necessary to see gynecologist and estanlish the right cause first.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
