Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Paxidep is controlled release formulation of Paroxetine which is a SSRI drug. The drug is a good drug for depression and anxiety and is safe to use. It is not very common to see dermatological side effects with this drug. You have developed blackening of skin with this drug so I would advise you to please visit a dermatologist to find out exactly if the skin symptoms are occurring due to Paroxetine or not.

The drug should never be stopped abruptly as this may result in withdrawal symptoms so doses should be reduced gradually over 6-10 weeks by reducing the doses by 20-25% every two weeks. Tapering the doses in this manner prevent any withdrawal symptoms. Please report to your doctor for any side effects you are having.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care.
