Hello,

Cannot say in your particular case AND black stool implies bleeding anywhere in the GI tract. There's rather a lot of ways cirrhosis can lead to GI bleeding and all of the possibilities are bad.

There is a loss of proteins in the blood to stop bleeding, there is the development of varices.

There is stress ulcers just from surgery and probably other causes, and bleeding in cirrhosis is an immediate emergency that needs immediate treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
