What Causes Black Colored Stools During Pregnancy?

HI AM PREGNANT AND 6 WEEKS RIGHT NOW. AM TAKING PRENATAL VITAMINS IN WHICH FOLIC ACID CONTENT IS ABOUT 800MG. SHOULD I REDUCE THE DOSE..?I HAVE NOT CONSULTED A DOCTOR SO FAR. I GOT APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER 2 WEEKS. I HAVE ONE MORE DOUBT..MY STOOL COLOR IS NOW BLACK..IS IT BECAUSE OF FOLIC ACID THAT AM TAKING?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The dosage will have to be decided by your doctor so wait till you can consult him/her. For noe, continue with the ssme dosage. As for the black colored stools this is most probably due to the intake of iron in your vitamin supplements.
