What Causes Bitter Taste In Mouth After Earache?

I get a bitter taste in my mouth followed by an earache. I have been to the doctors and they have looked in my ear and saw nothing not even redness. My ear and ear area does not feel normal after the earache has gone.Could this be an inner ear infection? This is the second time it has happened the last time 12months ago with niggly little twinges in between the 2 occurances.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bitter taste in mouth after earache which seems to be due to middle ear infection and due to eustachian tube dysfunction.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. Put antiinflammatory ear drops. You should take antibiotic Amoxicillin in combination with anti inflammatory medication. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Start treatment after complete otoscopic examination. Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object. Chew on sugar free candies and drink plenty of fluids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
