What Causes Awful Smelling Vaginal Discharge Post Child Delivery?
Its been 2 weeks since i had my son vaginally and i have stopped bleeding for now and when i do bleed its have an odor also when i do stop bleeding i have an discharge it be a little brownish but yellowish and it stinks. I know i couldnt have anything because before i left the doctor i got checked so my question is why the foul odor...???
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. After delivery, as the uterus involutes or starts getting educed to its normal size, there is a slight discharge called 'lochia'. This can be seen for 4-6 weeks after delivery and turns yellowish-white later on. The odor is similar to that of the menstrual blood. A fishy smell is suggestive of infection. This needs to be treated immediately with proper antiseptics and antibiotics. If you have the habit of using a tampon, please stop this immediately and start using sanitary napkins. Do not douche or use strong antiseptic solutions to clean the genital region. Contact your obstetrician for proper evaluation and treatment. Hope this helps.
