What Causes Anxiety, Paranoia, Auditory Hallucinations And Agitation While Treating Pneumonia?

Astute 91 year old woman, aortic valve replaced Jan. 4 2015, diabetic, resides in nursing home, diagnosed pneumonia 4 days ago, currently in hospital. Takes many medications, including Plavix and prednisone. Levaquin prescribed. Patient exhibiting great anxiety, paranoia, confusion, agitation, hearing things that are not true, interjecting repeating speech patterns in her responses, i.e., she says I said she said I said she says and I DID NOT (with emphasis and anger). Please help my mother-in-law. Billie Garber
