Hi my husband is losing quite a lot of blood from his back passage he is also getting stomach pains which are helped when he passes small amounts of stool but still quite a bit of blood. he says he also has a strange feeling in the tip of his penis and i passing urine more frequently
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your husband and understood your concerns. Passage of blood per-rectum is a serious matter and the causes can be fissure in ano, bleeding pile or hemorrhoids as it is called or a polyp, even a cancer. he is also having problem with urination and strange feeling at the tip of penis. Hence I would advise him the following in such a situation: Get an opinion of a General Surgeon. Get ano-proctoscopy and per-rectal digital examination. Colonoscopy helps further. Once the diagnosis is clear, the treatment would be as per the cause found. The Surgeon would also evaluate for the pain in penis and frequency of micturition. Ultrasonography of the abdomen and tests of blood, stool and urine will help to clarify the diagnosis further.
