What Causes An Increase In The Wbc Count When You Are Pregnant?

I'm in my 25th week of pregnancy which started on 15th june 2011.... I had done a blood test last week which reported increased number of WBC's..... for which the doctor game me tablets (Cefakind).Just wanted to is it something serious or routine during pregnancy

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion there will be elevation of WBC in pregnancy.You might not need any treatment unless you have any signs of infection like fever or any.So dont worry.
