What Causes An Increase In Red Blood Cells?

my daughter is 8years old and was complainig that she had a headache along with a cough and sneezing she has had for three days. she also has these symptoms.... back and neck pain, has chills, been running a fever of 103, a little stomach cramp. she has to take miralax regular or she will throw up. i took her to the er and her white blood cells were normal but her red blood cells was very high 20 count she did a urinary sample. they said she didn't have mono or even strep but they think a uti even though she and i both haven't seen any blood in her urine. so what is causing all this and why red blood cells so high

Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. She is suffering from fever with chills and headache. These all symptoms suggest possibility of urinary tract infection. Rbc in urine favour urinary tract infection. You should go for complete kidney function test. You neef to take complete course of antibiotics. Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
