Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My two year old son has a discharge from his right ear. From where I can see, the edges of the ear canal are covered in a very hard crusty like substance that is stuck to the sides of the canal. I ve picked it off and with the help of a q-tip.. Also, when I finish cleaning that ear with a q-tip, I ve noticed the q-tip has a very watery cream colored wax. He had tubes when he was about 10 months old. Should I be concerned?
Hi, Welcome to Hcm, Discharge in a ear is always a matter of concern especially if its in a child who had tubes in ear, then its very much a concern. Your description tells me that your child has ear infection and that needs to be taken care of urgently. It has to be seen by an expert and started in antibiotics and may be cleaning depending on condition. I would suggest you to consult an ent surgeon soon . take care. Wish your child a good health .
