What Causes An Abnormal Period With Bleeding?

Hi, I was 5-7 days late for my period now it s here it s not coming on as it usually does. Blood only appears to be coming out when I use the toilet and when I wipe and there s none getting on my pad. The blood is red, not clotted, which is strange for me as my periods are usually heavy from the get go. We have been ttc too.

Please go for a HPT with a fresh early morning sample to confirm/exclude pregnancy. A trans-vaginal sonogram further helps to know the status of the pelvic organs and if pregnant, locates the gestation sac and the age of the pregnancy.
