What Causes Acne On Skin After Stopping Roaccutane?
My skin is breaking out... really dfeeling down about it. Been on Roaccutane for a long period. Ended the last run in Dec 2014. The past few weeks my skin has been going nuts. I don t want to take Roaccutane again... is there anything else? I m eating healthy and drinking lots of water... don t know whats wrong... :(
You have been on Roaccutane for a long period, presently you are experiencing breaking / cracking of skin. The side effects of using Roaccutane for such a long time may present with symptoms like drying of skin, sensitivity to exposure in sunlight causing the skin to break. After the course of Roaccutane is complete, some people do complain of acne coming back. It may be due to oily, junk food, indigestion, hygiene problem, dandruff, hormonal problems, etc.
Stay well hydrated. Acne can be treated with application of ointments containing Benzoyl Peroxide (Sridex) on the area affected. Taking a course of antibiotics like doxycycline orally and hormonal therapy is quite effective. Get re-examined by a dermatologist. You may be recommended treatment by laser therapy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
