What Causes Acid Reflux After A Fundoplication Surgery?

Hi...I had the fundoplication surgery last March. I ve had a horrible year after the surgery with symptoms that are worse than before the surgery. I have other issues besides...Laryngospasm for which I take Botox. I believe I have reflux worse than before. Is this possible? I should have known nothing is free. Forget I asked.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If there are breathing difficulties, progressing pain in stomach or uncontrolled vomit then you need to see a doctor since it may be a surgical complication.

Otherwise, you should take easier diet, menta tea, probiotics, one spoon of olive oil in the morning and take Pantoprazole pills. Also, you should avoid long sitting.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
