What Causes Abdominal Pain And Acid Reflux?

I had the Nissen Fundoplication some years ago and have done well until about 10 days ago. Abdominal pain, and the heartburn feeling along with nausea. I had a open fundoplication as surgeon informed me that a lap was not indicated for my severe case.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Nissen fundoplication is a surgical procedure to treat acid reflux and hiatal hernia.

As this procedure was done several years ago, and the usual recovery time is 2-3 months after the procedure.

What happened in your case is the relapse of the symptoms as sometimes this procedure comes undone.

So, you should check it out with a gastroenterologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
