What Causes Absence Of Periods While On Birth Control Pills?
Hi, my name is Mary and I was put on the depovera birth control when I was 16. When I was on depovera I never got my period. I just recently switched to Nexplanon a year ago and my doctor told me that it will pick up where repo left off. I have been on birth control for almost 3 and a half years and still haven t received my period. I m currently 20 years old and have about 2 years left in my Nexplanon. I m scared that when I get off of it I won t be able to have children of my own because I can t have my period. Should I remove my Nexplanon? Should I worry?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Depo provera injection and nexplanon are progesterone which is known to menstrual irregularities and absence of periods for a long time. There is no reason to worry, as most of the women resume their normal periods once they are off the drug and can conceive normally. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health.
