What Causes Abdominal Pain Post Fallopian Tube Removal?

I had my right Fallopian tube removed three months ago due to large hydrosalpinx. I just starter my 2nd cycle since surgery and I am in excruciating pain. If I press down on my abdomen it hurts but when I let go it hurts a lot worse. Just wondering what this could possibly be related to.

Hallow Dear,

I hope I can explain you the situation.

After any surgery inside the abdomen, there is a fair amount of risk of adhesions formations inside the abdomen. These adhesion bind different organs together and may lead to pain in abdomen. In certain cases, when the pain is intolerable, another surgery for clearing the adhesions may be required.

The other possibility in your case could be Infection. The very fact that you had hydrosalpix means that you had infection in the tube. Probably after surgery this infection could have flared up. You might require antibiotics with anti-inflammatory medicines for this condition.

Even presence of endometrium (uterine lining) outside the uterine cavity (endometriosis) also can cause pain in abdomen. However, this pain is usually during the menstruation.

My first diagnosis based on your symptoms would be post operative intraabdominal adhesions. Since they are so agonizing, you may require surgery for adhesiolysis. Please report to your Gynaecologist for the further treatment. Meanwhile you may try some pain killer with anti-inflammatory medicine.

I hope this helps you.
