What Causes Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea In A Child Having Running Nose?
My son(5) is complaining of stomach ache. He has some diarrhea, Is slightly lethargic for himself, but will have burst of energy here and there. He also has a runny nose. I m wondering if I should see doctor or if it probably needs to run its course. I would probably saw on a 1-10 scale he is about a 7 for not feeling well.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of abdominal pain and diarrhea while having running nose. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like viral gastroenteritis , bacterial gastroenteritis , food allergies , lactose intolerance , giardiasis or irritable bowel syndrome. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor my order test like stool test , endoscopy , ultrasound and take history. Doctor may prescribe omeprazole , ornidazole , albendazole , laxative along with antiemetic drug. You should avoid solid foods for a few hours try small amounts of mild foods such as rice, applesauce and do not take foods or drinks caffeine , carbonated beverages , citrus and dairy products. For now eat light and non spicy , take antacid after every meal and take light walk after every meal .
