What Causes Abdominal Pain After Undergoing Medical Abortion?

I had an tablet enduced abortion 6 days go pain was bearable but been woken up in the night with sharp pains in left ovary and low abdomion and it is extremely painful. Why is this when pain has been ok for the first few days ?? The pain is keeping me awake there that strong ... Help please

Understand your concern
For safe medical practice, you should use abortion pill after getting guidance of gynecologist. Medical abortion pill cause abdominal pain as it cause uterine contraction. It will be for 4-6 days after using pill and mild to moderate in severity depends on nature and age of pregnancy. But in your case it was severe and after 6 days suggests some abnormality. Yous hold consult the gynecologist to rule out the following causes: Incomplete abortion, infections, abnormal development of pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy and ovarian dysfunction. USG scan and pelvic examination should be done for diagnosis. Incomplete abortion is treated by misoprostol or/ D &C, infection required antibiotic course. Take proper rest, healthy diet and analgesic.
