What Causes Abdominal Cramps After Ovulation?

I am 2 days past ovulation. I can always tell when im ovulating because of cramping, but normally it ceases. This cramping in my very low abdomin has not ceased. its very constant and present. What could be the cause? yes, we are trying to conceive, but have had no luck in 4 years.

Hello,

Cramping associated with ovulation is usually related to tubal movement and release of the ovum. however, your current symptom is not the usual phenomenon. since you are trying to conceive, you can suspect a very early pregnancy.

If you are at least a week post-ovulation, you can get the assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres for clarification. A sonogram of the pelvis around the expected period is of further help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam
