What Causes Abdominal And Pelvic Area Pain And Weight Gain?

Hi I m 20 and since early march my period was a day late and I thought it was just my uterine fibroids probably acting up, but then in April my period was only two days(usually my period is 5-6 days) and was not cramping nor did i spot after. I took a test and it was negative, but when i went to the doctor they said the test was negative so i got on depo. Ever since then i cant even walk a few feet without feeling out of breath, my lower abdominal is in pain, my pelvic hurts and i gained weight. I been on depo before and this never happened. I wear pants and feel like im going to burst. Now two months later and i am spotting but its black. I had a lot of discharge before but it never smelled. Please tell me if this is normal??

Hi

First of all, a smelly discharge should be checked for STDs and other such infections so please do visit a doctor for a vaginal swab test and a urine sample.

The next thing I would like to add is that many of your symptoms are associated with the use of the depo as it results in a hormonal imbalance and all such side effects are normally seen. May be you did not experience it the first time, but experiencing it now is still considered normal and expected.

Best wishes
