What Causes A Painful Hard Blister In The Armpit?

My 4 year old has this pimple looking bump under her arm. It is hard when you touch and she says it hurts. It had a white head on it and I popped it last night and but neosporin and a bandaid on it but it looks the same today without the white head on it. Any suggestions on what else to do for her?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

A lump in the armpit can have many causes. These include swollen lymph nodes, infections, or cysts. Sometimes these lumps or blisters may also indicate a serious health condition. So seek medical attention if you have an armpit lump that gradually becomes enlarged, is not painful, or does not go away.

In your case it seems to me that the lump/blister is due to infection , so no need to panic .

I would suggest you to consult doctor for proper examination .

Doctor may order complete blood count to measure the number of red and white blood cells in your system, mammogram or biopsy .

The treatment will depend upon the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics for any infection . cyst or lymph node swelling . Sometimes small surgery is needed to remove the lump . Chemotherapy and radiation therapy can be other options .
