What Causes A Hardening In The External Jugular Of The Neck?

There is a hardening in the external jugular in my neck and I want to know what is wrong or could be wrong and why this is happening. It seems to be hardening further up the vein? What could this be and could this be need for an immediate need to repsond?

Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.
IN the given situation of Yours,You seem to suffer from-TOS(Thorasic Outlet Syndrome) with APS(Hughes Syndrome-Anti-phsospholipid antibody syndrome) causing thrombotic hardening of ext. jugular vein.
USG with Colour Doppler study would fix the clot in ext jugular vein and would be treated accordingly with blood thinners / or catheter directed thrombolysis(CDT) with phosphotidyle choline -or R-tpase-Activase(Recombinant tissue Plasminogen Activators) injections.

Other causes needs to be ruled out with Vascular Surgeon Consults and team of doctors, to resolve your issue.
