What Causes A Fatty Mons Pubis?

My daughter is nine and she has quite a fatty mons pubis which she says is quite painful in particular the mornings. It has always been quite large for her age but has steadily gotten bigger. What do you think may be causing the appearance and the pain?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Fatty mons pubis is usually due to fat deposition over bone which doesn't respond to exercise. It's a genetic make of the body which should not be an actual cause of pain in your daughter.
It's important to rule out other reasons such as urinary tract infection or menstruation related pains ( if a case of early puberty). Also check for any local site infection.
Procedures like liposuction and surgery not recommended for this condition usually.
