What Causes A Cyst In The Vision Area Having Diagnosed With Diabetic Retinopathy?
my husband is having diabetic retinopathy and recently due to dyslipidemia he developed cyst where vision comes, so he told it is not possible to do with laser, so what is the remedy for this and he is experiencing blurred vision in that particular place

Hello,
It must be macular edema or fluid build up in the centre of the retina. We cannot give laser in the central part of the macula called fovea. However grid laser can be given around it. Injection Avastin can be tried , 3 injections 3-4 weeks apart. Strict control of blood sugar and lipids is very crucial and important for visual recovery.If OCT shows presence of vitreomacular traction, then you may consider vitrectomy surgery. Kindly discuss these with the retina specialist.
