What Causes A Bruise On The Lower Spine?

My son has almost like bruising along his lower spine, he has not hit himself against anything or fallen, is this something I should inform his neurologist about? We are currently waiting a mri but this is something I've never noticed on him before.

Hello!

My name is Dr. Aida and I am glad to attend you on Healthcaremagic!

The bruising could be related to a coagulation disorder or an infection. I would like to know more about his past medical history. Is he taking any therapy for the moment?
It is necessary consulting with his doctor for a physical exam and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, coagulation tests).
You should discuss with his doctor on the above tests.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes, Dr. Aida
