What Causes A Boil Above My Eye At The Edge Of The Inner Eye Brow?

I have a large boil above my eye at the edge of the inner brow, that developed over several days. It is from an infected hair follicle. I went to a walk in clinic today, and they gave me Bactrim and told me hot compresses. I have taken 2 doses of the antibiotic, and have done several compresses, and it seems to be getting worse.. should i go to the ER?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having a boil at the edge of the inner brow. The treatment of the condition is by use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs and hot compression as advised by your doctor.
The worsening of the condition indicates spread of infection in the from of preseptal cellulitis and probably it is not responding to the antibiotic. Hence this may require change of antibiotic. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
