What Can Cause Passing Lot Of Mucus And The Appendix Stuck Behind The Colon Condition?
My husband, 37 yo, had flatulence this morning and passed a large amount of thick mucus. He then thought he needed to have a bowel movement and passed more mucus with a small amount of stool. About an hour later he passed approximately 1 cup of mucus without stool. His right side has hurt him for the past two days. No fever. No N/V. He had an emergency appendectomy in June. The surgeon had a difficult time removing the appendix, which was tucked behind the colon. Any ideas? Diverticulae? Scar tissure? Ulcerative colitis?
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. You had difficult surgery long back, so the complications of the surgery may not be the cause. The diverticulitis, and ulcerative colitis will be of slow onset. As it is the case of sudden onset, it could be the infection, may of amoebiasis. I advise you to consult a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatmet. you may need to have a colonoscopy . I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, ornidazole, an dranitidine. wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
