What Can Cause A Person To Squint All The Time?

What can cause a person to squint -hard, all the time? This is my husband. He has Parkinson s, and just recently diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes, but also Glaucoma in his right eye. He squints so hard, that the lower lid on his right eye rolls up into the eye. I have to get him to try to relax his face and put his hand on his cheek to gently pull it down. He is scheduled to see an eyelid surgeon to see if surgery can help correct that, but if he s squinting all the time.....? He started out for 6 weeks taking an eye drop at night: Latanoprost Op .005% Sol, then the doctor added Timolol .25% for a morning eye drop. I cannot find anything under Parkinson s that has anything about squinting. Would like some advice here. Thank you! YYYY@YYYY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The rolling of eyelid is called an entorpion and it occurs with age in few patients and we can correct it with surgery and it is not related to squint dear . I think squinting is more to do with the fact that his vision is low most probably due to cataract and glaucoma . Was he advise cataract surgery ? How much is his vision? Please answer these things to help me make a clearer diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
