What Can Be The Transparent Discharge From My Breasts?

FYI Below: The same thing happened to me, I didn t think nothing of it. so I decided to check again 4-5 days later I squeezed both of my breasts and there is some sort of fluid coming out? Why? What could be the reason for salty transparent discharge from breast ? I am a 26 yrs old female, got married few three months back. I got to know about my problem yesterday when my husband reported that, MY BREAST IS DISCHARGING SALTY TRANSPARENT LIQUID when he is sucking them really hard. This never happened before. I do not know this is normal but I m scared. Both of my breast have this problem. Please Advise what should I do. Quote

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It can also be normal in women who are not pregnant and are not breastfeeding, especially during reproductive years. Certain manipulations of the breasts, such as fondling, sucking, or massaging can stimulate milk ducts to secrete fluid. Stress also has been shown to cause nipple discharge. If there is no tenderness, lump, swelling, pain or discharge (on its own and not by sucking) then I think you don't need to worry about it. If any of the symptoms which I quoted is present, then I suggest you visit a gynecologist so that he/she can have a proper examination of your breast and can advise further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
