What Are The Symptoms Of Potential Ovarian Cancer?

I had CT scan showing thickening of ovary (2 cm) 2 years ago. MD thought normal follicular cyst, but ovary did not change size b/w pelvic ultrasound 2 years ago. Now, I am having increasing pelvic pain much more so with including right low back and pelvic bone anteriorly. I have lost about 20 pds w/ in 2 month period. My lab work is normal except for wbc count 4.0. My OB/GYN does not want to do any f/u pelvic ultrasound from 2 years ago. I have also had recent changes in bowel habits--any additional pressure in low abdomen increases pain i.e. full bladder, increased gas or constipation, and sex. The pain is more constant; before, it was following my cycle couple weeks before and after my period. I had colonoscopy 2 weeks ago showing normal colon. I am concerned ovarian cyst or cancer. Where should I go from here?

Your situation definitely needs further evaluation as the possibility of ovarian cyst or cancer cannot be ruled out. You need to get an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis and a blood test called CA-125. If both these are normal then there is nothing to worry about. However any or both of these are abnormal then there will be a chance of ovarian cancer and you should then consult an oncologist.
