Hi,

You have not mentioned your gender. The symptoms of micro prolactinoma are gender specific. In women, the symptoms seen are changes in menstruation (irregular periods or absence of periods), production of breast milk while not pregnant or nursing. pain during intercourse due to vaginal dryness. Symptoms in men are erectile dysfunction / impotence, enlarged breasts (gynecomastia) and decreased facial and body hair.

Symptoms that can commonly occur in both genders include visual disturbances, headaches, low bone density and loss of sex drive. You should get evaluated the status of the disease presently before the treatment can be reviewed. The surgical treatment can also have complications and should be reserved medical treatment is not being tolerated or not working.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shubir Walter Abraham, General & Family Physician
