What Are The Side Effects Of Warfarin?

I ve been on warafin for 2 weeks for a DVT I had in my right leg, the Dr also had me on percocet for pain. I stoped the percocet going on 3 days now however I have terrible gas, and my stomach just feels bleh. Is this a side efect of the narcotic or the warafin?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Warfarin is an oral anticoagulant commonly prescribed to prevent clot formation. Its common side effects include bleeding (bruising, epistaxis, hematuria). It is not associated with gas or stomach upset. The opioid (oxycodone) present in Percocet appears to be the cause for stomach upset, gas, or constipation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
