What Are The Side Effects Of Using Isotrexin Gel During Pregnancy ?
Hey, i have been using isotrexin gel, and have had unprotected sex, i was just wondering what are the complications to my baby if i were pregnant? and what are the chances of any of them happening? thanks
Hi,
Thanks for using the HCM. I am happy to address your questions, Isotrexin gel contains two active ingredients, isotretinoin, which is a form of vitamin A and erythromycin, which is an antibiotic. The combination is applied to the skin to treat acne. The safety of Isotrexin for use in human pregnancy has not been established. Isotretinoin has been associated with teratogenicity in humans when administered systemically. Isotrexin is contraindicated in pregnant women and those intending to conceive. Treatment should be discontinued for one cycle prior to intended conception. It may be harmful to a developing baby. If you are planning a pregnancy you should stop using this medicine at least one month before you start trying. Seek medical advice from your doctor if you are pregnant to assess the risk. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Thanks
