My daughter is 16 and wearing glasses. She just joints a Taekwondo team and training for competitions. While practicing she can’t wears her glasses and I’m wondering if the contact lanes will be appropriated for her? How long will it takes before she gets use to it? What are the side effects? Thank you for all recommendations.

Hello,

Yes, your daughter can wear contact lenses for her practise lessons. Most patients get adjusted to cotact lenses within a week or two. It would require a bit of practise for wearing and removal of the lenses. She must however remember to carry her glasses all the time in her bag along with the lens case and cleaning solution. The present day lenses are soft lenses which are available as daily wear or monthly wear or annual pack. They are thin and do not cause must discomfort. Sometimes it can cause an allergic reaction which subsides with medication. Using lubricating eye drops after removing the lenses will help to keep the eye moist and prevent dry eyes.Good hygiene with utmost care of lenses sould be done.
