What Are The Side Effects Of Stopping Anti-depressants Suddenly?
Hi, I am looking for information on side affects from stopping a anti depressant suddenly?? I think my partner has stopped taking his medication ( Cymbelta), he has become very irrational and angry. He is not living with me at the moment, and is 100km away from me, I am really concerned about his sudden changes in behaviour. I am not sure what the side affects to stopping this drug can do?
Hello, Sudden stopping of anti depressants result in severe withdrawl symptoms. These symptoms can range from anxiety, agitation, violent behaviour, loss of sleep etc. Ask your partner to consult a doctor for the treatment and if the doctor is not available immediately, then ask him or her to restart he anti depressants in same dose or reduced dose. Consult your doctor on the first available opportunity. Thanks
