Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to side effects of Metformin. Metformin has a very low risk of birth defects and complications for your baby, making this drug safe to take before and during pregnancy. Metformin is also safe to take while breastfeeding. The symptoms will probably go away as the body get used to the treatment. If the symptoms continue, you may consult your doctor for insulin therapy.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
