What Are The Side Effects Of Potklor Syrup?

My father is suffereing from Asthima and he was in Nursing Home for 30 in the month of Jan12. He was in Ventilation for four days. Doctor has suggested him Potklor Syrup. He is not taking this syrup because inside the mouth some infection has grown up and it bit painful. For which he is unable to eat any hot and salty food. My father has a believe that this has haapenned because of this Syrup and he has stopped taking this medicine. Pls. suggest.

Hi,

Potklor syrup contains potassium chloride and is used to treat low potassium levels in the blood. Nausea, vomiting, irregular heart beat and increased potassium levels in the blood are the common side effects of the drug.

Oral infections do not occur with this drug. Oral candidiasis could be the cause and anti-fungal drugs are required for treatment. Blood sugar levels should also be checked.
