Last June, I had my period 2 weeks after the last one. It lasted 10 days which is really long for me. I had a pelvic ultrasound in which the results were clear (no problems). That period ended 7/6 and I got my period again on 7/23 which has now lasted 2 weeks. I also started my first cycle of Loestrin 24 (birth control) on 7/23. The pill has caused depression and major mood swings and I want to go off of it (only been on 2 wks). If I stop now, mid cycle, will it prolong this period? Also, what could possibly be the cause of such long periods. This has never happened before. I am 40 years old, very fit/muscular and have had no children. Please advise?
