What Are The Risks Of Having A Abortion During The 4th Month?

hi there my sister is about four months pregnant and she went to the doctors today and sadly the doctor reported that the baby has serve abnormalities to the head and is even bring up the possible suggestion of an abortion due to the severity of the problem what are the risks

Hello dear ,I understand your concern.In my opinion termination of pregnancy is indicated in case of severe congenital anomalies of fetus which cannot cope up with life.Complications of 2nd trimester abortion are incomplete abortion,bleeding,infection,retained placenta etc.But the complications are not seen in all the cases.With proper supervision and care we can minimise the complications.Moreover when the abortion inevitable like the case here the termination of pregnancy is to be done where the benefits outweigh the risks.Dont worry.
