Hi, I had a medical abortion when i was 18. I'm 24 now, and I'm 5 weeks since conception, i have an apointment on Wednsday for consultation. I take it I'm going to take the abortion pill since I'm only 5 weeks in. My question is will that descrease my chances of ever having a baby again? Thanks in advance
Hi, If you wish to have a medical abortion, please get it done under proper medical supervision after getting a trans-vaginal sonogram done to locate the sac and the age of the pregnancy. If properly done along with a follow up to check for any retained products, future fertility remains unimpaired. Yet, you should bear in mind that repeated induced abortions create uterine irritability and this can lead to increased risk of spontaneous abortions even though conception may remain unimpaired. So, please use proper contraception until you wish to have children. Hope this helps.
