What Are The Risks Associated With Oligohydramnios During Pregnancy?

hello doctor I am 30 yrs old. As per my Lmp ninth month has started for me. yesterday I had US and has diagnosed mild oligohydramnios.AFI 68mm. Foetal weight 2086 gms. I would like to know is there any risk to the baby and what are other complications. the doctor said baby growth is low and we need to go for C-section.

Hi, thanks for writing..
i understand your concern.. What is present gestational age in weeks. if it is more than 36 weeks CS is advised. Oligohydramnios acn cause growth restriction, preterm birth, cord compression and meconium staining in the liquor. adequate rest in left lateral position, high protein diet, adequate hydration and aminoinfusion can help to some extent if gestational age less than 36 and follow up weekly with scan and doppler to know the blood flow. Any reduction in blood flow is treated by delivering the patient. Hope I have answered your queries. Good day.
