There are many possible reasons for a delayed period, and sometimes if you are ill that itself could cause your period to be late. You may just have a flu or a virus that can be causing your symptoms. If the urine pregnancy tests have been negative, then a blood pregnancy test won't be that helpful, as the urine tests are just as good as the blood test. I agree with your doctor about that. I hope this helps answer your question, please let me know if you have any more questions.
