What Are The Reasons For Frequent Bowel Movement During Periods?
When I was on my period I felt sick the whole time , everything I ate just came back out , not vomiting but pooping a lot . Why ? Is there something wrong with me ? & I usually don't feel like this on my period this was a one time thing . Will this happen on my next period too ?
I understand your problem. This is not unusual. There are some local hormones called prostaglandins that are released during periods. They act on the uterus to produce contractions as well as cause shedding of the uterine lining as periods. However they may act on adjacent organs like urinary bladder and the intestines to irritate them. This leads to such symptoms. It cannot be predicted if these symptoms will recur. You will have to watch for the next few cycles to understand if there is a pattern. Most of the times the symptoms can be controlled by simple drugs like aspirin that inhibit these hormones and decrease effects. Oral contraceptives are also found to be beneficial. Regular exercise of the abdominal and pelvic muscles also helps control symptoms and is most effective.
