What Are The Precautions To Be Taken By A Myopic Patient?
i am a high myopic patient with right eye -13.5 and left eye with -11.5 .Iwant to argue about the use of contact lenses as in which type of contact lenses to wear and what should be the duration for them to wear...i also want to know are glasses much better to wear,,and further what are the precautions i should take being a high myopic patient and a software engineer who has to work on computer for all the time.

Hello,
Being a high myope myself i can suggest you few things. first of all make sure you get your retina checked every 6 months by a trained ophthalmologist for any lesion which might require laser.
For the question you have asked, glasses have always been gold standard for treatment of any refractive error, as there is no problem of infection as with contact lenses. also they are maintainance free. However with a power as much as required by you contacts offer certain advantages one of them being better visual acuity.
Lastly, with such high error i would suggest you to get refractive surgery done.
