Hallow Dear Sarah,

I can empathize your feelings when you lost your pregnancy at 3 months.

Raspa is conducted after a spontaneous abortion to remove any left over products of conception inside the uterine cavity due to incomplete abortion. Usually, abortion at 3 months is incomplete and some placental tissue remains behind. Hence we advise raspa for this stage spontaneous abortions.

If we apply medical logic to your case: had you incomplete abortion, you would have continued to bleed, would have developed fever due to infection and would have had pain in abdomen without raspa. From your history, you did not seem have any of these problems. So I can logically conclude that the abortion was complete without any complications.

Then you should not have any problem in conceiving now. However, it would be a good idea to have ultrasonography done to confirm that there is no intrauterine pathology. Laparoscopy will reveal the patency of your reproductory tract. However, there is no urgency in undergoing these investigations. You may give natural trial for 3-6 months. If you fail to conceive, then you may undergo these tests.

Irrespective of when you are planning to conceive, please start Folic acid tablets daily. They help good healthy growth of the baby. Additionally, iron tablets will make you and your baby more heathy.

I hope this clarifies your doubts.
